I started making canvas 'textures' after taking a short course in how to create painterly fine art photographs. As part of my continued personal development, I enjoy entering my work into various competitions, nationally and internationally. To enter most photography competition at a higher levels, its a prerequisite that the components are made by the the photographer themselves. Once I'd learned how, I got a bit addicted to the process, which involves painting canvases with acrylic paint, photographing them, and adding layer upon layer of other textures in the form of photographs gathered from all manner of places, messing around in photoshop until you have a beautiful painterly background to set off your subject perfectly. 

From this my Etsy store was born. over 3,000 sales worldwide and I'm making new ones all the time!
