Behind The Scenes At A Styled Fine Art Portrait Shoot

Katie D: Fine Art Portrait session

I first met Katie and her mum when I photographed a club skating competition in Telford, Shropshire. Fast forward a couple of years and Katie's mum answered a model call. I'm currently working towards a recognised distinction for professional photographers and this often means I hold modelling sessions to experiment with different creative ideas, new lighting and outfits.

Katie is an absolute natural in front of the camera, and our first shoot was such a lot of fun. once she got comfortable in front of the camera, we tried a few different outfits, had a giggle and ended up with some really fun, unique portraits. All styling is put together specifically for your shoot, whether its a hobby or pass-time that showcases your child's talents. Children often move on from these things as they grow up which makes these types of photos so important to look back on when they are grown up with children of their own.

The finished results! I love this painterly style of image....

I'm sure you'll agree that Katie did an amazing job. I'm looking forward to featuring some of these images in my qualification panel in the next couple of weeks.

Look out for a future blog post where we get Katie back in the studio to showcase her skating!

Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this type of shoot for your children, and let me create something unique and timeless for your family.
